  1. Matt, I want to express my sincerest gratitude for your comprehensive, logical, and invaluable resource. I’m in the process of starting my business in CO while still living in VA. Establishing an LLC was one of my dreaded “to do” list items. I allocated a week of library research time and braced for the suck. I stumbled (Google certainly helped) across your website – what a blessing! In two days I established my LLC, obtained an EIN from the IRS, wrote my Operating Agreement and secured a Certificate of Good Standing. I can’t thank you enough for providing this free service, it help demystify so many elements of the LLC process and saved me a week of headache and worry. Thank You!

    • Enrique! Wow, thank you so much for sharing all that. Really… YOU are why we build what we build and aim to help as many people as possible. It’s so much more rewarding when we hear from kind people like yourself. I’m so happy you were able to do everything yourself, save money, and now feel empowered and confident to grow your new business. We wish you all the best! :)

  2. I just set up and registered a new LLC and presto I got a “official looking” form from CO.service wanting money ($74.50) for a cert in Good Standing which can be obtained for FREE from you this is obviously very decpetive and using the public access registration forms to prey on people for needless things!!

    • I know, I hate this stuff with a passion. It’s such crap! Make sure to look at any official looking correspondence carefully. Usually on the back it’ll say something like “this is not a bill” and “we are not a government agency”. Letters like this can simply be thrown away. I hear you though. They prey on the misinformed and are very misleading. What a lame business model.

    • I totally got one of these in the mail too and I am so glad I researched it before I just paid up! Amazing how they can get away with this.

      • Hey Amy, I’m so glad you didn’t pay. I know, it’s astonishing and unfortunate. The states do work to shut these operations down. But more and more pop up.

  3. Hey Matt~
Thank you SO much for the walk through of this process! It was really helpful, especially as I’m learning so much in so many areas as I launch… appreciate the clear, helpful guidance and support.

    Best to you!

    • Hi Lynn, you’re very welcome! Glad to hear it was so helpful :)

  4. I want to thank you for putting this together. Starting a business is scary and you took a lot of the scary out of it form me. I am amazed that you give free advise. Not only free but great advise.
    Thank you so much.

    • Hey Bonnie, you’re very welcome! I’m so happy we could help take the “scare” out of starting an LLC :) Best wishes with your business!
