Default Judgment

Home » Default Judgment

A Default Judgment happens when the court or judge rules against one party because that party has failed to follow the court’s instructions.

For example, if you ignore Service of Process for your LLC or fail to appear in court, the court may enter a Default Judgment against your LLC.

A Default Judgment is “against” the party who failed to do what the court ordered, and “for” the other party. Meaning, it gives the person suing your LLC exactly what they asked the court for.

If you ignore a Default Judgement, the judgment still “stands” and is legally enforceable.
