However, today your Registered Agent may also receive state notices and reminders from the Secretary of State.
Then they’ll forward that mail to you. This helps you to keep your LLC in good standing with the state, and respond to any court documents in a timely manner.
What are Registered Agent services?
When forming an LLC, you need to choose a Registered Agent. A Registered Agent is a person or company listed with the state who agrees to receive legal mail and notices for your LLC.
You can be your own Registered Agent or you can ask a friend or family member who lives in the state where you’re forming your LLC. Alternatively, you can hire a Professional Registered Agent Company (aka Commercial Registered Agent).
